From the rugged peaks of the Davis Mountains in West Texas to the expansive flatness of the Llano Estacado on the Panhandle, the design traces the state’s natural contours as they transition southward into the Coastal Plains, barrier islands, and bays along the Gulf Coast. This topographical approach offers a distinctive perspective, presenting Texas not through a single moment of figure, but as a complete and enduring landscape.
Encircling the central design is the inscription “TEXAS BULLION DEPOSITORY 1 OZ .9999 FINE GOLD” with a lone star positioned below, reinforcing the identity of the commemorative series and the state it represents.
ReverseThe reverse design remains consistent across all Texas Lone Stars, serving as the unifying hallmark of the series. It features the Official Coat of Arms of Texas: centered on the iconic lone star and framed by live oak and olive branches, along with inscriptions including “THE STATE OF TEXAS” and the Texas state motto, “FRIENDSHIP.”
